The Pentagram is a very ancient and sacred symbol. Like the ankh, it is a symbol of eternity, life, death, energy, male, female, god, goddess, and much, much more. The north - pointing pentagram stands for the ascension of the spirit above material. I know there is a lot of hate and misunderstanding about the pentagram, but like the crucifix, when inverted, it means the opposite of what it normally would. Which is why Anton LaVey used an inverted pentagram for his symbol of satanism. Anton LaVey was the author of the Satanic Bible, though he believed in individualism(moral worth of an individual.) and materialism(the belief that physical possessions are important priorities), and did not advocate theism. Therefore, the inverted pentagram symbolizes the spirit descending onto material. Please take this into consideration before judging anyone.
