My freshman prom!!

Prom!!

Eye makeup Jan 29, 2011

For this look I used the Glamore Doll pigment in Lover's Lane. I also used the sliver/black in the Wet N' Wild "Lust" pallet, as well as the black with purple glitter. Lover's Lane falls out really badly, so use it wet. It also transfers to the upper part of the lid, hence the black out...

Glamour Doll Eyes Haul!!!

Okay so I bought eight of these eye shadows, and received two extras as samples. I bought these at GlamourDollEyes.com

First off, I love ALL of the colors I received!!!! I have a couple least favorites, but I will definitely still use them.

The two Sample colors:

Cloud Coverage: Is simply a milky matte white! I love this one, the texture is amazing and the pigmentation is... just... wow!!! The most pigmented white I've ever found!!! MUST TRY!!!

Island Chic: I wasn't sure about this one. In the bag it looked like a matte teal, but really its an awesome duo-chrome!! Its green, blue, and golden yellow. Its beautiful!! This color actually reminds me of a dragon scale!!

The eight pigments I bought:

Victorian: I really thought this would be one of my favorites, but its actually one of my least favorites. I thought it would be more red, but it leans more on the purple side. Its a soft lilac color.

Royal Assassin: I love this color!! Its a deep purple, but it has this great multi colored glitter in it!!!

Lover's Lane: I love this color. Its a super pigmented red!!! Deep, blood red, with copper undertones, and a bit of rust brown. So gorgeous!!! MUST HAVE!!!

Grease Lightning: Phenomenal green/gold with a black undertone. Duo-chrome!!! This one and Island Chic surprised me by their color and how much I fell in love with them!

He Loves Me Not: This is a beautiful neutral beige/rose color. Its so pretty!

Chocoholic: I also thought I was going to love this one, but its not as rich as I was hoping. I can't really explain it... the actual color is very pigmented and beautiful, and it has a really nice red undertone to it, but its not what I thought. Maybe its too metallic for me, or at least what I think of when I think of chocolate. Maybe as I use this it will grow on me. A deep brown color with copper undertones.

Backstabber: I love this color and I honestly didn't think I'd like it this much. Its a black green color!! I'm amazed at the blending ability for the creators of these colors!!! Black can be super overpowering, but in these it gives the right
amount of depth!!!

Graves in May
: First off, I love the name. Second the color is fantastic!!! Its a sheer gray with multi colored glitter and pink undertones!!! Fantastic. MUST HAVE!!!

Here are the colors: Left to right; Graves in May, Grease Lightning, Lover's Lane, Royal Assassin, and Victorian.

Again Left to right: Island Chic, Cloud Coverage, Backstabber, Chocoholic, He Loves Me Not.

A little ambling notion

As I read my assigned reading, I think about how school has affected my learning and effected me. To quote Jerry Farber, "History is engrossing, Literature is so beautiful. And school is likely to turn them dull or even ugly." I find this completely true on so many levels. I, myself, often admit that though I didn't go to school very often as a child, I learned more from my studying at home than I ever did at school. I was often much more competent in my "academic skills", although my grades didn't reflect this. I didn't mind being an F student... This way I could study more enthusiastically. I would read text books... similar to the ones I'm having to choke down now. It would be a great venture to be able to study freely, without petty competitiveness, or rewards and punishments. Its taken me years to figure out that being an F student didn't make me lazy or stupid... it showed a stubborn unwillingness to submit to being a slave of the system, so to speak. Skipping school, avoiding it, was my way of teaching myself, in my own time and on my own terms. Learning, actual learning, is self discipline. And what is self discipline, but a way of making yourself happy...

Rice Aroma Pu-erh Tea

Type: Black; Pu-erh. I love Pu-erh, while black tea is my favorite, Pu-erh is my favorite black tea. I got this from Ebay, from berylleb, this was another sample they sent me with my purchase. The initial aroma of this tea is very starchy and warm. The tea comes in these compacted little disks, I was honestly afraid to try these at first since they come from a different country without the FDA... Not that I trust the FDA, but it was a very learned fear... Of course I had gotten these right after watching The Human Centipede, so my mind was a bit warped. Hahaha! Anyway, I told myself that this tea would be soaked in boiling water, so I made some and drank it anyway! When water is poured over this tea its very fragrant!!! Its so beautiful and it smells exactly like cooking rice. The color is black-red with gold undertones. This does become a loose leaf tea, so you will need a strainer. I usually drink Pu-erh as milk tea, so the liquid becomes a tan-ish pink. The flavor is very smooth and mellow. It does taste a bit like rice, but not in the way Numi's Toasted Rice Green Tea. This teas is much more subtle, which I like considering that I find the Toasted Rice to be a bit... strong, overpowering.

I definitely recommend this!!! 10 out of 10!
