Story about June 6th 2006

At that time I lived in New Castle. I had 7 pet chickens, all of which had been hand raised and hand fed their entire lives. Let's just say they were VERY friendly chickens. On the night of the 6th, someone came to my house in the middle of the night and killed them. No, not killed them... tortured them and ripped their heads off. So when we woke up we found our oldest chicken with her head completely detached and turned inside out. She was laid out on our porch right outside our door, her head just a few inches away.  Ebony was the sweetest chicken and she had always seemed so wise to me. She had old eyes and it was as if we had known each other in another life.  Next we found Rusty, my only Road Island Red, in the shed, her feathers were everywhere and I at least found peace that she had fought for her life before dying behind a bale of straw. We found Sunny, one of the twin White Leghorns, beneath the lilac tree. Blackie died a few hours later from shock. PeDee's body was never found. As for Whitey, the other Leghorn, and Angel, they survives their injuries, but had lost their minds in the process, either that or they had extensive brain damage, but they lived a few more years before dying of pneumonia.

So here's my question... How sick do you have to be to hurt something so helpless and innocent as a chicken. Seriously? How can someone hurt another person's pets... yeah okay maybe they didn't know that these were pets, but still they trespassed on privet property just to kill some little girl's chickens. I am well aware that my family isn't well liked, that I'm not very well liked, but don't take it out on animals. I don't care if it was about religion either... What those people did was wrong and I hope someday you get what you have given.

Review: Indonesian Bali Blue Moon Coffee

I recently got a coffee roaster as a gift. Which I love. So here is the first coffee review I will be doing.

Indonesian Balinese Krishna Blue Moon
Origin: Bali
Where can you find it: http://www.burmancoffee.com
Price per pound: $6.75

Here's what Burman said about this coffee:
"A very rich, clean, and smooth cup with a nice sweet orange chocolaty finish. Medium to full bodied with low acidity, a nice daily cup. Hints of a slight smoky tones can be found, especially in a darker roast. The orange citrus tone is what makes this cup exceptional, this is the only coffee we have had with that great flavor!"

I roasted this coffee to a medium dark roast, so about 25 min. A full dark roast is 30 min. This coffee is quite clean tasting, but also quite acidic. There are muted smoky tones, but the fruity-ness is stronger. I wouldn't add sugar to this brew as it's sweet already. The texture is smooth with a slight bite. I can't distinguish the orange tone, but I understand how is could be perceived as citrus. Overall, this coffee is bright with a smooth finish.

I feel busy... but really I'm not!!!... Yet

Okay so I just finished my first semester of Vet Tech which was 16 credits! I nearly failed math, which would have cost me an entire year!!! But I didn't so I'm pleased. I'm still on track to graduate at the end of the next school year. The upcoming semester will be soooooo much harder! I'll be taking 22 credits!!! The average full time student only takes 12..... So I'm scared, but I think everything will be fine. Just don't expect to hear from me until summer!

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and I wish you all the best in the upcoming year. I'm not officially busy until the 16th, but just in case you don't hear from me!

Sasa.com Lucky Bag of Gorgeousness

Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA so long! I started school and I'm now happily in the Vet Tech Program!!! I'm taking 17 credits this semester, so yeah... I've been busy! Midterms are coming up in a couple of weeks so it might be some time before you hear from me again! But that's not what this blog is about! This blog is about the lucky bag I recently bought at Sasa.com. I got the bag of Gorgeousness... hoping for makeup, but I'm very happy with what I was sent.

So here it is... "Unboxing"/ first impression of Sasa's Lucky Bag of Gorgeousness.

A lucky bag, for those who haven't heard the term, is a bag that you order and you have no idea what's in it. You basically get several products to try, generally sample sizes, and you do get to choose them, but its still kinda fun to see what your going to get. I bought this for 29$. So here's what I got...

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief:

"Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place—a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One ‘drink’ and skin looks and feels happier, healthier. Oil-free." ~ Quoted from Clinique.com.

I have the 15ml jar, which is the second smallest jar Sasa offers... which I'm glad, because its large enough to try without being stuck with extra if I dislike it. This jar is 9 dollars at Sasa and 25$ at the original price. Clinique doesn't offer a container this small on their website.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:
This is the yellow bottle in the picture. I received the 30ml tube, which isn't listed on either the Clinique or the Sasa site. So I can't give you an price for it. However... a 50ml tube of this product was 20$ on Sasa and 13$ on the Clinique site... so thats weird that Clinique is cheaper, but it proves a point about shopping around!

"The oil-free moisture “drink” developed by Clinique’s dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for skins comfortable in the cheeks but oily in the T-zone or oily all over. Oil-free formula softens, smooths, improves. 1.7 fl. oz."~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser:
This is the pink/lilac tube in the picture. I got the 30ml tube, which, again, isn't listed on either site. A 50ml tube at Sasa costs $7.10 and the only size Clinique offers is $19.50, but it doesn't say how much the tube contains.

"Foamy cream-mousse cleanser removes long-wearing makeup and sunscreens quickly, gently, efficiently. Comforts with soothing botanicals. Leaves skin feeling moist, clean, fresh. A great value, too: concentrated formula is long-lasting. Ophthalmologist Tested." ~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-off Formula:
This is the green tube in the picture. This is $5.80 at Sasa and $18.50 for an untold amount at Clinique.

"Nudges away roughness, flakiness to refine skin. Helps lessen the appearance of fine lines. Clears the way for moisture. Suitable for all skin types. " ~ Quoted from Clinique.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Refreshing Eye Gel:
This is the small pink tube in the picture. This is 7ml and while neither Sasa or Clinique offer a container this small on the website, but a 15ml container is $26.10 on Sasa, and Clinique doesn't seem to carry this product anymore, at least, not on their site.

Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie:

This is the color Mango-thon, its a very red mango, but looks really natural on the lips and is a really pretty color. Currently, this is the only color Sasa offers, but I'm sure they'll get more soon. This is $4.50 at Sasa, but $17.50 at Clinique. Clinique describes this color as "a soft burnt orange with golden shimmer" and I have to agree. I dislike the screw-bottom, brush tip type of containers for lipgloss/liquid lipstick, but I must say that this one works pretty well. Though I did have to twist it about twenty times before it would produce any product! x.x... But the product itself is really good. I love the color, the consistency is pleasant; not very sticky and pretty smooth, it leaves lips soft looking and feeling, the glitter is very small and I can't feel it on my lips, and I think that for $4.50 this is definitely worth buying!

So I haven't tried all of these products, just the lip color, but I'll post singular reviews on these products later.

Beauty Spells, and my thoughts on them...

I've been thinking a lot about beauty spells recently; to the point of looking them up actually. And I've found some really interesting sites and spells, but the whole thing kinda creeps me out... Most of the time these spells are calling out to a Goddess and asking for a physical change. Yeah, there are the one's I'm okay with; for instance, spells for clear skin, longer hair, etc. But then there are the ones that are asking for weight loss, or for changing your eye color, or for making your chest bigger... and this is what worries me. I can understand why women would seek out such a change, believe me I do, and I think that a spell to change a persons eye color is interesting, but I wouldn't do it unless I knew it would wear off... maybe not even then.

It feels to me like calling out to a Goddess for a permanent change of being is like magickal plastic surgery... And do we really want to go there?! I think that the Goddess/es would be very disappointed in that, and perhaps offended. I know there are things about my body that I want to change, but I want to do it the right way... otherwise I'm not changing my habits. I want abs, so I'm working to get them instead of going and getting lipo or even using a spell. If I can't start good exercise habits, then why should I rely on magick to get results, which will most likely wear off because I'm not maintaining it. Its not like I don't want to experiment with these spells, but I just wouldn't feel right if I did.

Proverb of the day: 2/8/2011

You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.
